Lodge and Sons have undertaken several schemes of work at the church.
Phase one involved a schedule of repairs resulting from the Quinquennial inspection report, this involved stone masonry, leaded light and stained glass repairs and roof works.
Part of this scheme was repairs to the cracked ceiling and redecoration of the Lady Chapel along with conservation works to the altar and the statue of Mary. The new decoration to the ceiling has stars which are all gold leaf. The works include fitting an access hatch to the roof for ease of access for future works and maintenance.
The second phase of the works focused on the inside of the main body of the church and the redecoration of the walls. This was done with traditional off white Limewash to all previously painted surfaces. With the scaffolding in place, the ceiling and roof structure was cleaned down.
From the scaffold conservation, works and repairs were undertaken to the glazing in the church.
Finally, once the scaffolding was removed from the site further conservation cleaning work was undertaken to the stone floors in the Nave and Chancel.
