Minchins Farm, Pharisee Green

The new residents of Grade 2 listed Minchins Farm were keen to carry out some essential maintenance work along with some cosmetic changes to the property.

Lodge & Sons, working closely with Sybil of The Kay Pilsbury Partnership (www.kaypilsbury.co.uk) were instructed to put these works in place. The works included:

  • Full removal of existing render finish and re-render external elevations complete. Work includes complete replacement of existing lath for new chestnut lath.
  • Associated structural oak repairs as required once render stripped.
  • Convert attic space into useable loft area to include, WC, study and open area including all associated structural steel work.
  • Remove existing roof covering and replace with 2nd hand matching tiles.
  • Fully redecorate internal and external areas.
  • Remove and replace existing rainwater goods including associated groundworks for new pipe runs.
  • Modernise adjacent garage to include re-roofing.

Recently completed in July 2012 the work has transformed the farmhouse back to it’s former glory. Great care was taken in this project to ensure that the character of the building was not lost within the new repairs. This which proved troublesome with the structural requirements of the loft area but these were overcome sensitively and with a great attention to the smaller details to ensure that the properties character was not disturbed.

Externally, the house looks fresh and is free from any structural issues and will provide the family with a home for the future.
