Holy Cross Church, Felsted


Recently completed in June 2012 Holy Cross Church in Felsted has undergone a complete re-ordering internally under the expert guidance of experienced conservation architects Freeland Rees Roberts (www.frrarchitects.co.uk).

 

 

 

Works carried out in the church include: 

 

  • Complete strip out of existing finishes and excavation of the floor by 500mm to allow for the re-instatement of the new floor in limecrete incorporating fibre re-enforcement over 200mm of recycled foam glass insulation.
  • Removal and replacement of existing heating system including new boiler system.
  • Removal and replacement of existing electrical installation.
  • Lay new floor area with 12 x 12” handmade clay pamments.
  • Re-locate Chancel screen to new position and incorporate new carved side panels.
  • Install new curved dias area along with ramp access.
  • Strip and re-tile areas of Chancel to match existing including new curved dias area.
  • Fully decorate all internal walls and ceilings.

 

 The works have provided the PCC with a more useable space which can be adapted as needed by the PCC.
